New UFC Bouts: Legends Clash, Prospects Rise, and Undefeated Records Tested

Light Heavyweight Showdowns Highlight August and July Cards

The UFC’s Light Heavyweight division is set for fireworks with two significant matchups. Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz, known for his “legendary Polish power” and a professional record of 29-11-2, will face the undefeated Navajo Stirling on August 1. Blachowicz, with nine knockout and nine submission victories, is looking to regain momentum after a recent majority draw and two decision losses. Stirling, meanwhile, boasts a perfect 10-0 professional record, with five wins in the UFC, and is currently ranked #12 in the Meta UFC Light Heavyweight rankings. He’s coming off impressive TKO victories in March and June of 2026, showcasing his potent kickboxing background and finishing ability.

Another thrilling Light Heavyweight contest sees Magomed Ankalaev, a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion with a 20-2-1 (1 NC) record, take on Bogdan Guskov on July 25. Ankalaev, ranked #2 in the Meta UFC Light Heavyweight rankings, recently lost his title in October 2025 but had previously defeated Alex Pereira to claim it in March 2025. Guskov, nicknamed “Hitman,” holds an 18-3-1 professional record and a 4-1-1 UFC record, with 15 knockout wins. He recently fought Blachowicz to a majority draw in December 2025, proving his mettle against top competition.

Heavyweight and Welterweight Action

In the Heavyweight division, the undefeated Mario Pinto, with a 12-0 professional record and a 3-0 UFC slate, will clash with Ryan Spann on September 5. Pinto has six knockout and one submission victory, and is riding high on recent decision and TKO wins. Spann, a veteran with a 24-11 record, is known for his high finish rate, with 14 submissions and seven knockout victories, but is looking to bounce back from a TKO loss in April 2026.

Welterweight fans can look forward to Santiago Ponzinibbio, sporting a 30-9 record with 17 knockouts and six submissions, facing Sam Patterson on July 25. Ponzinibbio, a seasoned striker, aims to rebound from a May 2025 loss. Patterson, “The Future,” holds a 14-3-1 record with a remarkable 93% finish rate, evenly split between knockouts and submissions. He’s coming off a decision win in March 2026.

Exciting Matchups Across Divisions

September 5 will also feature a Lightweight battle between Mateusz Rebecki and Kyle Prepolec. Rebecki, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with a 20-5 professional record, is currently on a three-fight losing streak in the UFC, making this a crucial bout for him. Prepolec, “Killshot,” has an 18-10 record with 10 knockouts and four submissions, but is also looking to snap a two-fight skid.

The Featherweight division sees two undefeated prospects go head-to-head as Ezra Elliott (8-0) meets Damien Anderson (5-0) on July 18. Elliott, an Illinois wrestling champion, has stopped seven of his opponents, while Anderson, “Demon Hands,” has finished all five of his professional fights, never going to a decision.

Other notable bookings include Kurtis Campbell (8-1) facing Trevor Peek (9-3) on September 5 in a Lightweight clash. Campbell, “The Pink Panther,” boasts strong wrestling, while Peek has eight knockout wins. Also on September 5, Michael Page, “Venom,” with a 25-3 record and a 4-1 UFC run, will take on Nursulton Ruziboev, “Black,” who holds an impressive 37-9-2 (2 NC) record with 21 submissions. Finally, a Bantamweight showdown on August 29 pits Aoriqileng, “The Mongolian Murderer,” (26-13, 1 NC) against Japanese megastar Kai Asakura (22-6).

Rounding out the new bookings, Abubakar Vagaev (24-4), a two-time ACA Welterweight Champion, will make his UFC debut against fellow Dagestani grappler Magomedrasul Gasanov (23-2) on July 25. Gasanov enters the Octagon with a remarkable winning streak dating back to 2015 and seven ACA title defenses.
